If it were not for you۔۔۔
Many people ask me why I write a lot in the praise of Allah and His greatness but why I do not write articles in praise of the Prophet (P.B.U.H). Not even in the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal. I say two things in response. One is that there is no shortage of people in the society who are doing the work of eulogy of Prophet at the highest level. This is the effect of their work, that in this society the warmth of the love of the Prophet (P.B.U.H) runs like lifeblood in the blood of the weakest Muslim. Even the greatest secular and non-religious and rational man is very emotional about the Prophet (P.B.U.H). I will not make up for any shortcomings by writing something like this.
The second reason is that there is a general negligence regarding the work that the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) himself did throughout his life, which is also the basic demand of the religion. That is, remembrance of Allah, His passion, His glorification, His praise, His admiration and the description of His greatness. In this case, our case is that we say ‘Nahmaduhu’ (Thank God) without thinking at the beginning of each of our speeches and at the end we say ‘Alhamdulillah (Thank God), the Lord of the worlds’. This is more or less the case with our poets and writers, orators and preachers, scholars and pastors. But in the name of God, sweetness never melts in our tongues, never does the heart ache in remembrance of Him, never do tears drip from our eyes in His love, never longing for death arises in the desire to meet Him.
However, the fact is that every hair in our body, in every single moment of life, is burdened with the weight of His bounties. Above all, if anyone came to know of it, it is the attributed personality of the Prophet (P.B.U.H). Your whole life was nothing but a passion for God and His remembrance. Your life:
(The believers love God above all else, Quran 2:165)
was a practical example of it. Not only was this your practical life but it was also your invitation too. If I have taken this path, then I have chosen only in the obedience of the Prophet (P.B.U.H)
I was in the street at noon when I was thinking about this article. The sun was on the head and its bright light illuminated everything. But in spite of this flood of light, there was no heat in this sun of ending winters and coming spring. I felt that there was no better example of the whole personality of the Prophet (P.B.U.H) in this world than this. Your essence is the spring sun which is very bright, but not sunny. You are the light of guidance after which no darkness can remain but there is no element of warmth in your life that burns the existence of us sinners. But how strange it is that people do not learn the lesson from your personality and character that you came with, but surrender themselves to the darkness of their desires.
I entered the mosque to offer afternoon (Zuhr) prayers. There was still some time left in the congregation. Some people were offering optional prayers (Nawafil) inside the mosque building and some in the courtyard of the mosque. I looked at the clock and said by looking at the cool spring sun.
(O Messenger of Allah! If it were not for you, I would not have known the faith nor the Sharia)
Then, instead of standing in the shade, I stood in the cool sunlight in the courtyard and began to offer the Nawafil.
